The Simpson Middle School LibraryLearning Commons is open each school day from 8:00 a.m. to 4:10 p.m.  Students may use the many resources including computers for research and classwork. 

Spring Voltz, Teacher Librarian, Jenny Starker, Media Parapro, and Amy Ryan, Foundation Tech Support, are in the learning commons to help students, faculty, staff, and parents as they work. We are here to assist all patrons in information access, technology use, and many other capacities.

Mission Statement:
The mission of the Simpson Middle School Learning Commons is to be an integral part of every student’s education fostering a love of learning and discovery.  We will also strive to support the system’s mission, “Creating and Supporting Pathways for Success.'” by:
 

•  Consistently working to increase collaboration between teachers and media specialist.  Developing strong lesson plans to increase achievement for all students.

•  Maintaining a library of resources for educational purposes and leisure purpose.

•  Stimulating interest in reading.

• Maintaining a welcoming environment for students and faculty.

• Supporting school’s curriculum and mission.

The learning commons staff will accomplish these goals through a partnership with students, school personnel, administrators, and the business community.
